Zander Magolnick, 16, First Year Trainee

I started dancing at the age of seven years old, focusing on tap and hip-hop; and then started training in jazz, lyrical, and contemporary, before finding my true passion in ballet. Prior to joining UBT, I trained under Catherine Lewellen at Elite Classical Coaching for the last five years. Through the years I’ve had some great recognition at regional and national levels. In 2022, I had the honor of being awarded the Senior Grand Prix at ADCIBC Finals, and the Silver Medal at YAGP International Finals. I am also thankful for being recognized as a 2022 YoungArts winner. Last year I was also invited to compete at the prestigious Helsinki IBC.

 

My journey has been one of inspiration, motivation, and education and I would like to thank my coaches, parents, and teammates for believing in me, pushing me, and cheering me on in this journey. I plan to continue my hard work and dedication to the art of ballet as I pursue a professional career.

 

I’m excited that my first new opportunity is to work with Joseph Gatti as a company trainee at United Ballet Theatre in Orlando!
