Laura Pretel, First Year Trainee

Laura began her dance training in 2016 at The Center for Contemporary Dance in Orlando, Fl. There she trained in various dance styles including ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, acrobatics, modern dance and improvisation.

In 2018 Laura started attending Inez Patricia School of Dance under the direction of Jeré James where she continued to train in various styles of dance. There she has had the opportunity to work with guest staff such as Sharon Wong and Troy Powell from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She as well has had the opportunity to perform across the central Florida area and she was casted in the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in the 2021 production of Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker.

Previous to the start of the 2022/23 season she attended United Ballet Theater’s Academy summer intensive where she gained acceptance into the company’s trainee program.
